  Annual Fire Testing: Smoke Detectors

   

  The City of Toronto mandates that all units must have a working smoke detector less then 10 years old.

   

  On December 1 & 2 2025 the smoke detectors will be tested in each unit. If the smoke detector in your unit fails the test, a follow up inspection fee will be applied to the unit.

   

  How To Pass the Smoke Detector Testing:

  • Install a Smoke Detector by the Sleeping Areas in your Unit.
  • Change the Batteries in Smoke Detector Annually
  • Change Smoke Detector if Device is Over 10 Years Old.
